Flavorful mice
So, there I was one day, working at my day job, considering the possibilities of a couple dozen other things, and I came up with an idea. See, the felted mice were cute, but I’m thinking a cat would find them much more adorable if they had been filled with a little catnip and not just leftover scrap wool from my spinning stash. “How could I get catnip into an already felted mouse?” I pondered. “Hmmm….too bad I couldn’t find a way to “inject” it…”
Hey! I know! And so started my great idea of how to get catnip inside an already finished felted mouse. There’s probably an even easier way to do this, but for now, this is what I came up with.
I have a couple of those “flavor injector” things that I’ve never used for cooking. It’s basically a really big syringe with an extremely large bore “needle” at one end. Now, the catnip is still a little uncooperative for this procedure, but persistence paid off, and I did manage to fill the half dozen or so mice I have waiting to give to the cat rescue ladies. Looks kind of awful, but the mice didn’t seem to care.
