The Dishcloth phase continues!
Well, I guess dishcloths it is! I’m still enjoying the easy-going knitting. I haven’t yet gotten to the lacy butterfly pattern that I downloaded from Ravelry, but meanwhile, I’ve turned out a nice feather and fan dishcloth, and currently, I’m working on one that I found at Dishcloth Boutique a few years ago. The pattern had apparently been shared there by someone, who now has it on their own web site…but I don’t know what that web site is. It’s a favorite of mine.
It’s called Grandma Pearl’s Openstar 2 Dishcloth. It calls for size 7 needles, but I find I like the cloths I make better if I use my #6′s, probably a gauge thing. It’s an interesting slip stitch pattern. Interesting because all the stitches are knitted and then the PSSO happens. So it’s a y/o, then K3, then pass 1st knit stitch (of the group of 3 stitches you just knit) over the last 2. All the wrong side rows are purled back (with the exception of the garter stitch border). Rows 1 and 3 are offset by a couple of stitches so you get the lattice effect. After this one, I think I’ll likely do a hummingbird cloth. I “heart” hummies – maybe even more than dragonflies and butterflies.
