Barbara on the edge

I’m more than halfway around the edge of “Barbara”. I’m never sure (nor do I ever think it possible) that the shawl will block out to the size I need it to be. But, that’s the beauty of knitting – you can always gift it to someone if it doesn’t. I knitted until I had two skeins of yarn left, and then started the edge. I have learned how to, as Ms. Stahman calls it “Knit to and pearl fro.” Which means, I am knitting the edging on without having to turn my work! It’s basically knitting backwards, and what a great way to learn a new technique. At first I couldn’t quite wrap my mind around the instructions, but then, I got tired of turning a lap-full of shawl everytime I’d knitted five or six stitches! So, I then decided to maybe re-think my decision that I “couldn’t” figure it out, and perhaps TRY to figure it out. Amazing how that works. So, next pics should be in the blocking stage. We’re almost there!
