Friday and September!
No “long weekend” for me to rave about. My day job doesn’t go that way. If you’re scheduled for a Monday, you work a Monday - regardless of the type of Monday it might be. I’m looking forward to the weekend though, since it means at least LESS time at work, and likely Monday will be slower than usual since it’s a holiday for the people I work for.
September feels about the same as August so far, but I’m hopeful now that the month has changed, that soon the hot, hot, hot days will be gone for a while. Apparently not this weekend, but it’s still a change of month, and a glimmer of hope.
I started another knitting project. I’m not sure it will actually end up what it’s meant to be, but it’s a fun and nearly mindless knit (so far) while I procrastinate on Michael’s second sock. I had to check EZ’s book for the type of cast-on it required.
I originally had other plans for this yarn, but it refused. I ripped it out what seems like dozens of times. This yarn does not want to be lace. It does not want to be P2togB (does any yarn?) - this means Purl 2 stitches together thru the back - as near as I can figure, this maneuver requires holding your mouth a certain way while contorting your hands arms in directions not generally thought possible outside of an Olympic gymnastics competition. I finally gave in and chose a different project. So far, row upon row of straight knitting with the occasional K1fb increase works for this yarn. It’s probably going to end up too small or if by some miracle it actually does fit someone, the 100% cotton nature of knitted fabric will cause sagging/bagging, or perhaps it will remain forever a work in progress. Time will tell. One thing is for certain though - it won’t become a butterfly, at least not in my hands.
