Monday, Monday…
Weekends sure seem to go by fast. It decided to rain this weekend, which I find refreshing. It’s not a deluge like some parts of the country are experiencing, but just a nice little surprise after a week or so of really too-hot days. In the midst of the business of getting it all in on the weekend, I worked more on Lady E and some on Sock #2. I’m rather surprised at my newly discovered diligence. I’ve never been one to remain focused on so few projects at one time. I’m only juggling 3 fiber projects currently - my mom’s curtains (almost done), Sock #2 and Lady E. Now, mind you, the spinning wheel has been calling to me recently, so I’m thinking I might just have to be a little more organized and less spontaneous in the near future (yeah, THAT’LL happen!). You know, like pick a day for spinning, a day for sewing, and … well, doubt I’d pick only ONE day for knitting. Knitting seems to be able to wheadle its way in to just about any day at some point or another. You know, when you’re finished with your “day of….whatever” then you pick up the knitting and finish out the day, right?
I’ve got a bunch of brown fleece waiting to be spun. And, recently I found a project that I’d like to make with it. It’s quite an ambitious endeavor though…a sweater for Michael. At least that gives me a goal to finish up with the project of spinning the brown fleece. I dont’ know what kind of sheep the brown fleece is from. I believe it’s a cross-bred Lincoln/?. It’s got a nice crimp and relatively fine, but also soft and silky feeling to it which I’m assuming is the Lincoln influence. Anyway, that’s my current “agenda.” Finish the Sock - Defeating Second Sock Syndrome in the process, finish Lady E, finish the curtains, get the next sock project started - all the while working on the brown fleece. How’s THAT for planning?
