Sock progress!

Well, this sock adventure has taken more than one turn, and been ripped at least twice. Finally figured out what I needed to use my 2 circular needles for making the pattern I wanted. (The Jaywalker pattern found at MagKnits.com.) It makes a zig-zag pattern, and with this neat yarn that makes its own stripes, I think it comes out looking pretty cool!

Watering Can Cloth

This month’s knit-along on the monthlydishcloths list on YahooGroups. It’s a cute little watering can. Very fun to knit. Pattern can be found here.

PotScrubber Pad

This funny looking little thing is a little pot-scrubber that I “invented.” I knit it from leftover cotton yarn. It is three squares with y/o’s placed so that I could thread an icord thru to keep it folded. Each square is separated with a garter stitch (knit) row. so that it folded easily, and the last square (yellow - see below) I left off the last row so that it came out just a tiny bit shorter and would fit better as it folded to the inside.

Leaving a tail of yarn made it a little easier to thread the I-cord thru the holes too.

A closer look at the row of knit bumps between each square.

All three Squares folded.

Three squares knitted, last square (yellow) one row shorter than first two.

I used Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Yarn and size 6 (US) needles.
The squares are about 3.5 inches square.

PATTERN (I think! I didn’t write it down right away….arrrgh!):
CO 16 st.
Row 1 Knit
Row 2 Purl
Row 3 Knit 2 y/o (k2tog k2) 3times k2
Row 4 Purl
Row 5 Knit (continue this St stitch to row 9)

Row 9 Knit 2 y/o (k2tog k2) 3times k2
Row 10 Purl
Row 11 Knit
Row 12 Knit
Repeat rows 1-12 once more.
Repeat rows 1-11, bind off.

Make 2 I-cords - or you could make one long one - weave thru holes.

Dragonfly Cloth

It’s not “blocked” for the picture, but here’s the latest. It’s done in Cotton Tots yarn, and I got the file thru the monthlydishcloths list on Yahoo groups. VERY soft cotton yarn.
